Double Decker Chxn Parm Pizza-Burger

What’s better than one pizza? Two little pizzas with a vegan chxn parm between them!

SERVING: 2 sandwiches

PREP/COOK TIME: 45

ALLERGENS: Soy & Wheat

EQUIPMENT: Piping tip to cut little pepperoni (OPTIONAL)

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 2 burger buns

  • 4 TB Olive Oil

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • 1 cup marinara sauce

  • 1 c shredded vegan mozzarella chz

  • 2 TB vegan parmesan cheese

  • 1 stack of BE Hive Seitan Pepperoni

  • 2 breaded chicken patties of your choice (gardein, morningstar, etc)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat your oven to 450.

On a sheet pan, open your hamburger buns and place them inside facing up on the pan. Drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder. Top with 2 TB of marinara per each bun, spreading with the back of a spoon to coat evenly. Top with 2 TB of your vegan cheese of choice. Drizzle again with a little olive oil to help get that cheese melty.

Bake the buns 450 for 10 mins without the pepperoni on it to melt cheese. 

When done and cheese is melty, turn your oven to a medium broil, add your pepperoni and a drizzle of olive oil and broil for 2 min, or until desired toastiness.

While your buns are baking, prepare your favorite vegan breaded chicken patty per the instructions on its packaging. 

When pizzas are done, pull from oven and leave broiler on. Move your pizzas to plate and place your chicken patties on the pan. Top with 1 TB of chz, 1-2 TB of marinara and a sprinkle of parm. Broil the chicken patties for 1-2 mins until bubbling. 

Time to build!

Your bottom bun is a pizza. Then using a spatula, place your chicken parm on top, then top with a another bun! Sprinkle with fresh basil to garnish.  

Bake for 10 mins at the bottom of your oven. After 10 mins, top with your favorite pizza sauce. We like the traditional two lines of sauce down the pizza. Pop it back in for another 10 mins or until the edges are dark and the pizza is bubbling. 

Take a metal spatula and run it around the edge of the pizza and release it from the pan onto a cutting board, cutting it into 8 pieces. Top with basil and more parm and serve!!
